Today, I’m crazy excited to share with you one of my favorite interviews EVER.
I had the privilege of sitting down with Nev Schulman, host of MTV’s hit show Catfish.
For those of you who haven’t seen it, Catfish is a really unique show that explores the strange intricacies of online dating…and why some people lie about their identities online.
(The entire show is based on a 2010 documentary of the same name that was equal parts funny/heartwarming/creepy.)
Nev shares so many cool, interesting tidbits about the psychology behind relationships, why people lie and the craziest people he’s met on the show. Also…extremely interesting, he goes in DEPTH about how he uses different tools and technology to determine if someone really is who they say they are online.
Some time stamps to guide you:
- 00:10 Catfish documentary, trailer for Catfish: The TV Show, and the different types of “catfish.”
- 07:10: Relationships, trust, and the process of investigating to prove that someone is fake.
- 16:50: the state of online dating. and the problem with compromise
- 24:50: Catfish: The TV Show’s most interesting episodes
Gimme some feedback!
Do you watch Catfish?
Have you ever been catfished…or…gulp..catfished someone else?
