How To Double Your Income In 2015 By Starting A Side Business (New FREE mini-series)

New to this series? I’m hosting a free Master Class on 1/19/2015 that will teach you exactly how to start and grow a freelance business — even if you don’t have an “original” idea. Save your spot here (limited seating).

Hey…

I’m about to hit the gym, and I just drank a wayyyyy too much of that pre-workout energy stuff…so I don’t feel like beating around the bush.

Let’s get right to it.

I only have ONE goal this year…

I WANT TO HELP YOU MAKE MORE MONEY IN 2015 THAN YOU’VE EVER MADE IN YOUR LIFE.

Period.

How much more, you ask?

DOUBLE.

And nope…you’re NOT going to do it by working double the hours.

…or by selling your body. (Unless you want to. Call me.)

This month, I’m going to teach you how to come up with a brilliant idea, bitchslap fear in the face, avoid the most common mistakes and start a profitable side business that 2X’s your income in 2015.

(Even if you haven’t run a “business” since your second grade lemonade stand…)

I’ve slaved over the digital stove for the last few months to put together all new FREE mini-series for you.

How To Double Your Income In 2015 By Starting A Side Business

Over the next 4 weeks, you’ll receive:

  1. A detailed guide on coming up with unique ideas that you KNOW people will pay you for (never feel paralyzed wondering if your idea is “good enough” again.)
  2. A step-by-step “negotiation flowchart” that will teach you the 7 most common customer objections, and how to use psychology to make people feel comfortable buying from you (even if you couldn’t sell a snowcone in hell).
  3. Deep-dive tutorials to help you master procrastination, destroy barriers and kick the living shit out of limiting beliefs by optimizing your “Mental Edge.”
  4. ***REAL LIFE CASE STUDIES*** by successful Rich20 Tribe members who are making $1,000….$5,000….gulp….even $20,000 per month with their side business. They’ll take you inside their business and tell you exactly what’s working for them.
  5. Real, no-BS answers to your biggest questions about starting your own side biz :)

IMPORTANT

All of this culminates in a free, streaming Master Class on Monday, 1/19 called “Double Your Income in 2015: How To Launch A Profitable Side Business” where I’ll peel back the curtain on my side businesses and show you EXACTLY how to launch your profitable side business this year.

Sign up for the Master Class here.

You’re getting this all free of charge because I <3 you. Sound good?

It’s going to be an awesome series, but before we get all that rolling, I want to hear from you.

What’s the biggest question you have about starting a side business?

  • Having trouble coming up with ideas?
  • Not sure how to find customers?
  • Tried to start something in the past, but failed?

Step into my office.

Leave a comment on the blog with your question, and I’ll personally work on it with you, with a LIVE VIDEO RESPONSE.

Can’t wait for you to see this series unfold :)

Much love!

-DD

PS…

Why would I bother putting together all this free content or responding to every single Tribe member via video?

Because lots of people online CLAIM they want to help you — but when push comes to shove, they like to hide behind their autoresponders. So freaking annoying.

Listen…

If you’re in the Tribe, there’s a good chance we’ve actually spoken and become friends.

You know that when you email me, I actually respond as fast as I can.

You know that when you call me, I actually pick up (or text you back if I’m in a movie ;p).

You know why?

Because I actually GIVE A DAMN about you.

That’s why I’m hands down the most accessible “expert” online.

I used my little “air quotes” for that line. Don’t take “expert” too seriously.

Dr. Evil agrees…

Lots of self-proclaimed “gurus” try to impress you with their credentials, or tell you how many people they’ve helped. I get it.

Don’t get me wrong, credentials ARE cool…

(That’s why I’ve written well over 100 detailed articles to help you launch a business you care about, and industry leaders like Entrepreneur Magazine and The Huffington Post regularly feature my advice to millions of readers.)

But lemme ask you this….how many of those other experts/online gurus have you actually gotten personal help from for free?

Exactly. I’ll wait.

That happens every single day at Rich20Something. And it always will.

By now, you know that I’m here for you. And you know that the entire Rich20 community has your back, too. I’m extremely grateful to have you :)

Oh…yeah: Don’t forget to ask me a question.

Hey Daniel i think that this is just an amazing idea. It's great to see that you put so much effort in your projects and you give such a valuable product for free,it's really inspiring and motivating for me.

I'm not sure if i will be able to connect to your classroom at the time,do you that you'll record the class?

Also i'm learning CS and data science and i would like to start a business in those fields.I love some topics such as bioinformatics but i see no business or freelance opportunity there.Just some corporate jobs that would never consider me (i'm a high student and i've just enrolled in some MOOCs),and i would also avoid them, even if i had a degree. So my question is do you think that i should keep studying those subjects just because they interest me or i should move on some more monetizing areas?(such as web design or iPhone app developing)

Hello Daniel,

Thanks for this opportunity,

A couple of months ago a good friend approached me to partner with him on a business. The business is called EuropaMedicine.

The problem we are aiming to solve is: getting into medical school has become very competitive in the UK. So, an increasing number of prospective students are applying to European universities instead. An increasing number of these European universities deliver their courses in English, they are cheaper, easier to get into, and above all they are GMC certified (the UK medical government body) , and so the end result is the same - you become a doctor!

I've been trying to apply the Marsupial method - something I picked up from one of your webinars :) What we did is we dished out about 500 leaflets outside a GMAT (a pre-medical exam all UK applicants must sit). We ended up getting about 20-30 responses but none have translated into business so far. I was wondering if you could perhaps kindly provide a few pointers here please? There are several thousand who try to get into medical school each year. On top of that there is the international market with an increasing numbers of chinese and indians trying to get into european unis - would love to tap in to them too.

The way it works is potentials fill out our google form and submit to us their grades. And my friend, who is a Europe-based medical student and so knows what to expect, essentially scours european universities to see which one's match their credentials. Then we basically apply for them and advise them on the entrance exam and help them.

Around about this time they (UK applicants) are finding out which universities have accepted them and which have rejected them. The rejects ought to give us a call as euro universities accept applications all the way till April. Really I'm just trying to figure out the most effective way to reach out to all these people. I would love your pointers!

Best Regards

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, it has a ton of value.

Just one question:

- how do you decide continue working with a client? how frequent do you evaluate the possibility of firing/continuing-with a client? what variables do you consider?

Regards.

Hello,

do you think a blog is a good side way for an artist/illustrator/writer to get more audience? I love blogging, but I wonder if it wouldn't just get lost among other millions of blogs online. How does one stand out? Am I doing it completely wrong?

pushfactor

Hi everyone,

I've read all your comments, and it is so wonderful to have a man like Daniel who is so down to earth and helpful with this crazy online business world.

Last year December, I started my website, Push Factor, http://yourpushfactor.com (Daniel, I hope it's OK if I posted my link. It's not for the purpose of advertising, just to explain my POV.) I have been at it for a year now, and because I chose to start my site within the self-help industry, it's like being a tiny fish in a humongous pond! When I started out, I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I was just shooting in the dark, quite honestly. I hired a good friend of mine, a brand strategist based in Las Vegas to help me start my brand. It cost me a bundle, but I had to take that route and dive right into the deep end of the farthest part of the ocean. This way I knew I was tied to this thing and no matter what, I have to keep swimming till I get to the shore.

One year later, and I have gotten some massive gains in terms of my confidence and my ability to do this. What I still struggle with is conversions, but it is all about learning and brushing up on my skills and remaining consistent. Last year I created my first videos, podcasts and my first free course. The course has really connected with many people, and it has been so encouraging to connect with people one on one.

I know for many of your, your biggest fear right now is starting. All the ideas in your head (or maybe none), wondering how it will be received if and when you decide to start, because you are putting yourself out there, and you don't want to fall flat on your face, I truly get that. But I want to encourage you to START. That's actually my mantra for Push Factor: Get Started, Keep Going!

The truth is, it is not easy. There is nothing fun about getting yourself out of your comfort zone to try something you barely know, but there is a reason why you know a man like Daniel. He is the real deal. He will take you through what you need, but you will have to trust not just him, but most importantly, yourself! You are the only one who can take you through this. And I promise you, that when you find yourself doing the things that scare you the most, you will discover characteristics about yourself that you never knew existed! But you know what? They were always there.

So give yourself a chance this year and simply try. Start with Daniel. He can definitely give you the tools and resources you need to get you started.

Wishing you all the very best this year!

Sheila!

P.S. This is not a shameless plug like Daniel paid me or anything! I just love his work. In this business that has a large number of self proclaimed gurus who will charge you thousands of dollars to give you information that you could have simply done your own homework on, Daniel truly is the real deal. So this is my own personal endorsement as far as he goes. Whatever he is offering, sign up, buy, enroll, whatever. It is valuable!

Ash

Hey there Daniel,

Huge fan - as a fellow 20 year old, you've really helped me redefine what I want out of life and the possibility of being able to do that. Reading the comments, I'm clearly not the only one you've influenced!

My question for you is: when I have a business idea, how do I go about making sure it's one that will work? Sort of like testing the marketing, but without having put in orders and handing out free samples and stuff.

Thanks man, you're the best!

Daniel, I've been thinking of ways for my website to be better known. Since its inception last May, I've been posting on popular forum threads directed specifically to my topic (California Bar Exam) and guest posting on a bar exam blog that appears relatively well entrenched in terms of social reach and SEO. One of my readers told me she found my site by googling and finding my guest post on the host site.

My email subbers have more than tripled since guest posting, but they are still below 100. I'm not sure where else to go. I know my content is not terrible because I get words of thanks and praise (on the forum and via email) and never any complaints.

I've been thinking a bit about your marsupial technique and how I can apply it to partnering with law schools (who are desperate to push bar passage rates up)...but I'm not sure what I can do with them. I'd like to increase my reputation before approaching law schools, however.

My question is quite simply: I feel like I've tapped out possible resources (popular forum and popular host site); how do I increase my reach from here? Thanks.

Hey Daniel,

My Name is Tim, I have been watching all of your posts, emails, and videos since the beginning and must say you continue to impress me with just how real you are, I work in IT and i am fairly savvy with most tech, I am wondering how to focus that into a business idea that could be used to make income on the side, or more. there are IT repair shops everywhere, and

I would only be a sole trader if as an example I went down that path, what can I do to stand out and be different, and worth more. biggest problem i have is getting started !! too many what ifs.

cheers,

Tim.

My primary concern has always been acquiring business. I have a writing business. It is doing semi well but with a little extra TLC can bring loads of money in. What is my next step to bringing in more clients and selling my services BIG?

ShaunCoffey

Thanks Daniel.

How do you stop continually tweaking your idea? The need for a perfect product or service is a strong "driver", but seems to get in the way.

Thanks

Shaun

amithmreddy

Hey Daniel thanks for doing this!

I been inspired by your Hacking Elance article to freelance my programming skill. I started to build my portfolio in December, I have two good projects in my portfolio. Is this enough to start? It feels like it isn't enough, but I don't know what is. I feel like the answer is just to try to apply to jobs, as I keep building my portfolio, but I haven't applied to any jobs yet.

I would love your input.

Thanks for the help, your so awesome!

BJPivonka

Hey Daniel,

I've worked primarily with start ups, particularly pre-money. It's just where my work has been done. However this is not always the easiest client to find who is available to pay. Basically I do venture consulting for those small businesses to help them make their next big step (usually meeting with investors).

1) how can I find more clients who have the money to pay for this services (deliverables include a complete market research verification of targets markets w/ ther suggestions, financial projections based on market/industry data and recommendations for business improvement and HOW to do them).

2) How can I expand this market if need be?

3) Would potentially creating joint partnerships with venture capital/seed money firms to provide consulting to firms that they know but who are not ready for prime time funding make a lot of sense?

Thanks for the help. You rock!!

My question is how do you do it? You nail the 4 C's in every video. Calm, composed, compassionate and clever :) Thank you for always inspiring and encouraging us, Daniel. Looking forward to 2015 and reading/watching more of your magic. Keep up the great work!

Hey Dan a bit late, but hopefully still good! My biggest question is how do you decide what to do? Especially as it is the new year, I find there are more and more things that I want to achieve in the coming year, but no I can realistically only say yes to a few things while saying no to many things in order to make real progress. Would love to hear how you choose what to do when you want to do many different things!

Daniel,

I've been graphic design freelancing for a few years now and all of my clients have come via referral. For the first time I really want to actively grow my customer base and establish a flow of work coming in. What are some suggestions you have for finding clients at, I guess we'll call this the second stage of my business?

MsJenC

Hi Daniel,

Really looking forward to what you've got coming our way soon. I've really enjoyed reading some of the posts and responses below. Very helpful and comforting to realize that we all experience and feel a lot of the same things.

My questions are - not sure where to start. Have some great ideas for starting my own business, but the whole process seems very overwhelming and enormous. Need help breaking it down into bite-sized chunks. And also, how to go about it without killing myself, my current job, my family, etc. I'd like to make it into a new venture and still be somewhat energized!!

Thanks - look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Daniel,

Sounds like a lot of useful information is coming our way, can't wait!

My biggest problem is that I feel like I don't know where to start when planning my business. There's so much to think about, production distribution, sales, marketing, legal requirements, etc. etc. It feels overwhelming...

Looking forward to the new series!

HI Daniel, got 1 question for you:

How do you write your text's (psychology underlying stuff)?

I know honesty but some patterns read like a lot of good schemes I read on the internet. So I guess there are some patterns that you and other successful internet bloggers/Sellers use. Where did you get these patterns from? (book, etc.)

phil2006

I think my biggest concern is that will my ideas work? I have tons of ideas but which should I seek? How can I test an idea to see if it works before I even start?

Plus where should I start?

Look forward to this series!

mparulski

Hi Daniel,

My biggest problem is getting started coming up with ideas, I can be very creative but when it comes to a practical business idea I usually hit a mental road block. I have been a procrastinator all my life and that has led me to put off a lot of life plans and remain in a job that will pay the bills but do little else for me. I usually say tomorrow is my day to get something big done, but today I am reaching out, if for nothing else but to know that instead of just talking about tomorrow, I tried working toward something today. I need some help just getting started!

Ynne

@Rich20Something Haha, the same name-issue as before, sorry about that. I must admit I'd probably read your surname wrong, too. (But now I know better.)

It's like "in"+"e" (like in "rEd"). It's a Czech pronounciation, not English, so I guess no one would get it right at first try. :c

Thank you so so much for your time and thoughts. I asked you something for the second time and seriously, your newsletters are the only ones I actually always open and read (and follow the advice, whenever possible) among so many others that just don't feel as genuine.

Thank you.

(I'm going to look into artists and others on youtube to see what's going on there, and who knows where it'll lead!)

Have a lovely day

Ynne

Ash

@Rich20Something Thanks for the response!

You made a good point - competition isn't always a bad thing, it just shows that there are already customers willing to pay for it. All we have to do is make a 'tweak' (as you said it ) and show how/what we do is different.

And thanks for the link as well, I'll check out USP :)

Brian Hahn

@Rich20Something @Brian Hahn Hey Daniel, thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Here is the site in question: www.makethisyourlasttime.com.

To follow up on your points:

1. I am consistently guest posting, and people seem to get a lot of value out of my posts. I submit a post every 2 weeks or so to my host site. I then email my subscribers about it as well as update my main blog about it.

2. It is easy for people to sign up. There is a form on the right side that follows you as you scroll. I also have Scroll Box by SumoMe that pops up 80% of the way down. I offer subscribers a $20 discount off a service many use for studying and a guide I wrote.

Things I will keep in mind after your video:

1. I'll keep on grinding for that "one thing" that gets me a bunch of subscribers—which guest posting did but would like to see more. Maybe just needs time in a narrow field.

2. Keep thinking of new places to guest post or reach out to.

Thanks again.

amithmreddy

@Rich20Something @amithmreddy Thanks Daniel so much for answering. I am taking your advice about finding work in places other than Elance. I am fixing a problem for my dad, and hopefully I can sell it to the company he works for.

@Rich20Something Thanks, Daniel, that's a very good advice. I've got a few paying customers already and many people are asking me about my products, but the perfectionist inside of me is screaming: "Don't do it unless it's perfect!" So I want to make sure that I've got everything covered before I make it official and public. You are absolutely right, making a string of little steps helped me with many other habits I wanted to develop (I saw the video you sent us and that's exactly how I started running every morning, keeping the house clean and neat, working on my projects...). I guess I just need to use the same approach in my business. Thanks! :)

@Rich20Something @Justin Tan Hey Dan thanks for the awesome personalized response, yea you're right, it's not easy to pick and choose. But how did you know it was the Rich20Something group that mattered most to you, as opposed to your other companies? Also though, at what point do you consider taking on new things? For example, a couple years I developed the habit of going to the gym at least 3 times a week, but since the habit is established now, I think about it less and just do it; would you feel at that point since I've already established a "new thing" as a habit, I could take on another "new thing"?

@Rich20Something @JulietAnnerino zip-lining and spider monkey wrangling was so fun! All the shows went well, too :)

Now to develop my latest crazy idea: "Rebel Ride Share". Rather hop on the back of a Harley than get into a stuffy ol' black car? Facial hair on a car not your style? Want a babe in a convertible to pick you up? No rules. Just rides. Hop on. Get in. Rebel. Ride. Share. I'm thinking we start with a funny video and get viral with it. You like?
